Another new use for my iPhone: mobile blogging -- not sure, however, how much I'll use it.

Folsom Rodeo 2009

Cindy, Alice (my mom) and I joined my son, Andrew, and his lady, Lacy, and Lacy's family at the Folsom, California rodeo this year. We've gone in years past, but this was the first time with Lacy's family -- and they generously paid for our tickets. We had a great time, and got to meet and talk with some of their crew. Grandpa Chuck & Grandma Jo were especially friendly.

I shot some video with my new iPhone 3GS, and decided to try publishing it a couple of different ways. So, you can check out the first of two clips by clicking on the window below. It's a 16-second clip of Lacy, Andrew and Cindy looking into the evening sky to try and spot the jump plane and the parachutist.

The second of the video clips is the actually entry of the parachutist into the Dan Russell arena. I published it to YouTube directly from my iPhone, a practice that could become addictive! Just click on this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NstvKsqwtg. I regret that I stopped the video just before the final "A" (of "U.S.A.") sung by Lee Greenwood in his classic, "God Bless the U.S.A." So plan to sing that final "A" (either to yourself, or out loud) when the video ends. I hope you enjoy these.

Come, sabbatical, come . . .

Man, after reading several days of Greg Webber's family's blog of their trip across the country (see, http://folsom5outback.blogspot.com/), I have a serious case of the sabbatical blues because mine is about a year and a half away. I want to go on my next one, NOW! Greg's on his, and from my reading, they're having a ball. I will live vicariously through their marvelous travelog for a little while longer.
